Solace Church began as a dream in the heart of Matt Blair. In 2004, while reading Andy Stanley's book "Visioneering" God spoke to Matt about starting a church in Berryhill. At that time Solace Church was known as Fellowship Church.
13 people spent 3 months praying and planning for the launch of the first service, and in August of 2004, Solace Church was born. Matt and his team prayed that God would allow 200 people to come to the first service and that night 197 people showed up. After the initial count was made, 3 more people came and God answered the prayer for 200 that night. From that 200, 50 people made the decision to help fulfill the mission of reaching un-reached people.
Solace Church began holding weekly services at night in a rented church in Berryhill. Through creative and innovative worship experiences, Solace Church began to grow from an average of 50 people in 2004 to 100 in 2005.
From 2005 to 2013 Solace has grown from an average attendance of 100 to an average attendance of 650.
From the beginning Matt shared the dream of Solace Church reaching thousands with the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Currently Solace Church has outgrown their facility and is pursuing new facilities to continue the mission of reaching the un-reached.
